Work Day

Tearing out the old track.

The new steel track was built right on top of the old track which makes a good "work table". The new track is then scooted off to the side and the old track is removed and the path dug out a little more to accommodate the deeper 2x4 ties. About 120 feet of track was layed today through and on both sides of Tunnel #4.

Harry took on tree-trimming duty today.

Karl sets up the laser transit.

Karl and Kevin bend some rail in preparation for track laying.

The laser transit is a very handy tool for proper grading.

Bob is creating a nice area by the steps to the BBQ. He's installing a crossing gate here!
